STOKES George H. Stokes, formerly of Emmitsburg, died suddenly on Friday afternoon in Ann Arbor, Mich., where he had been employed for a number of years. Suffering a heart attack, he dropped dead while at work. He was aged 45 years and was the son of Mrs. Carrie B. Kefauver Stokes and the late J. Henry Stokes. He is survived by his mother and two brothers, Charles K. Stokes of North Tonawanda, N.Y. and Arthur M. Stokes, of Titusville, Pa. The deceased was veteran of the World War and a member of the Reformed church of the Incarnation, Emmitsburg. Funeral services will be held from the home of his mother in Emmitsburg Tuesday afternoon at one o’clock. Rev. E.L. Higbee will officiate. Francis X. Elder Post, American Legion, Emmitsburg, will have charge of the services. Pallbearers will be members of the post. Burial in Mountain View cemetery, Emmitsburg. S.L. Allison, funeral director.
