Age: 74 Died Friday, Jan.8, 1988, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after a long illness. She was born May 22, 1913, in Owendale, Mich., the daughter of Nunley and Pauline (Siegwart) Hughes. She graduated from Gagetown High School in 1932. She moved to Detroit and married Kenneth P. Schmaus Feb. 6, 1934, in Detroit and he survives. They moved to Ypsilanti in 1948. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors besides he husband include one daughter, Mrs. Archie (Eileen) Crislip, of Belleville; and 2 sons, Kenneth E., of Ypsilanti, and Mark R., of Hamburg; five grandchildren, Edward Mark Crislip, Mark Anthony, richard Janes, Melissa Kay, and Ryan Perry Schmaus; four brothers, Joseph (Helen), of Warsaw, Wisc., William (rita) of Caro, Mich., Arthur (Jean) of Owendale, and Richard (Leona) of Troy; three sisters, Elizabeth reilly and Nrs. Herb (Jean) Smith, both of Warren, Mich., and Mrs. Samuel (Gertrude) Dettori, of North Fork, Calif; eight nieces, nine nephews, seven great-nieces and 25 great-nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marjorie Carol; two sisters, Doris Hughes and Elaine Parker; a brother, Frederick; two grandchildren, Marjorie Rose, and Archie E. Crislip; and four nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John reilly of Beacon Baptist Church of Taylor officiating.
