This is the headstone for Charles Washington Reed.  B: 18 Sept 1844. D: 27 Nov 
1921. He was struck by a car and died while crossing a street in Ypsilanti. He 
enlisted in the military in 28 Nov 1861 and served with General Sherman. It 
appears that they abbreviated his name on the headstone. The dates and his 
company are correct and the section of the cementery the office claimed he was 
in.
