But school bells never will ring for Barry, He was crushed to death under the wheels of a delivery truck yesterday afternoon. Barry, the son of Raymond and Margaret Baldridge, was killed while playing in a cardboard box in the alley behind his home. The driver of the truck, told police he thought the box was empty and as he pulled to one side to permit another vehicle to pass, hooked the box on his front fender and ran over it. He said he was about to back up to a loading dock at the rear of an S. S. Kresge store, 5656 Vernor west, when he saw Barry's feet protruding from the box. The boy's parents said he was to have started in the first grade at Holy Redeemer School today. They said Barry usually played in the backyard and seldom wandered into the alley. The driver was released after making a statement to police.
