Obituaries taken from the Clare County Review, June 13, 1999:

Theodore J. Chastney, 8l of Allen Park, passed away May 31, 1999 at the
Tendercare Nursing Home in Clare.  Theodore was born February 10, 1918
in Detroit.  He married Ethel A. Bois in Allen Park in 1972.  Theodore
had served his country faithfully during WWII in the Marines.  He had
fought during the battles on Iwo Jima, being wounded several times, but
never giving up and finally helping to secure the island as a key
miliary installation.  Theodore had belonged to the VFW in Detroit, and
the American Legion in Allen Park.  He had worked as a die maker for the
Tinken Company and also Rockwell International.

     Services for Theodore have aken place, with burial in the Highland
Cemetery in Gladwin.  Arrangements by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home
Inc. of Clare.
