CHROVIAN Harry	Age 86.  Born in Istanbul in 1911.  Survivor of the 1915 
Genocide of the Armenian population by the Ottaman Turkish Empire.  Came to the 
U.S., married Araxi and had 2 children.  Had a successful shoe repair 
business.  Retired at age 68.  Loved gardening, backgammon and playing cards, a 
longtime member of the Knights of Vartan and dedicated to the Armenian church 
community.  Endured his illness with courage and will be remembered as a kind 
and gentle man.  Beloved husband of the late Araxi; dear father of Ronald 
(Audrey) Chrovian and Mrs. Ilene (Vahram) Fantazian; dear grandfather of Mrs. 
Patricia (Jeffrey)  Poeszaf, George (Pamela) Fantazian, Janine Fantazian, 
Christa and Caren Chrovian; dear great grandfather of Cailin Fantazian; dear 
brother of Vartan Chrovian and family; also mourned by many relative and 
friends.  Visitation Friday 6-9 p.m.  Prayers 7:30 p.m. at St. John’s Armenian 
Church, Southfield.  Funeral service Saturday 11 a.m. at the church.  Interment 
Woodlawn Cemetery.  Knights of Vartan service Saturday 12:30 p.m. at the 
Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel.  Family requests memorial gifts to St. John’s 
Armenian Church.  Arrangements by Edward Korkoian Funeral Home, 248-541-8325
