His burial was to take place today at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with services this morning at Holy Trinity Church, Sixth and Porter Streets. For 19 Years Mr. Doemer was the proprietor of the confectionary store at 1061 Michigan Avenue, a site he selected as conveniently on the route of children attending the three schools, Holy Trinity, Houghton, and the old Wilkins School, now the High School of Commerce. Boys and girls, now men and women, patronized his counters probably every day of their lives, certainly on days that pennies were available. Until the illness three years ago that resulted in his death, Mr. Doemer made his own candies and ice creams. He always refused to augment his stock by buying from wholesalers and during the war, when sugar was scarce, he curtailed his trade rather than sell the "manufactured kind."
