Dr. Olmsted Services Set

Services for Dr. William Roys Olmsted Sr., 7434 Churchill, a physician and 
surgeon, will be held in the Mayflower Congregational Church, 7301 Curtis, at 
2 p.m. tomorrow with burial in Grand Lawn Cemetery.  TYhe body will be at the 
Northwest Chapel of the William R. Hamilton Co., 18900 James Couzens, until 
the services.

Dr. Olmsted died Saturday at the University of Michigan Hospitl, Ann Arbor.  
He was 73.  He had been a member of the Grace Hospital staff since 1917.

Born in London, Ont., Dr. Olmsted received his medical degree from the 
University of Western Ontario in 1903.  He taught at the Loyola School of 
Medicine in Chicago before coming to Detroit in 1915 to start his practice.

In 1946 Dr. Olmsted was made a life member of the Michigan State Medical 
Society.  He was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Academy 
of Surgery.  He was also a member of the Wayne County Medical Society, the 
American Medical Association and the Garden City Masonic Lodge of Chicago.  
His wife Meta E., and two sons, William R. Jr., and Dr. George S. survive.
