These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. _____________________________________________________________________________ Fred R Skeels 1948 Fred R Skeels 80 years old died Saturday at 10 a.m. in Wyandotte Hospital, the results of a week's illness with a heart ailment. He had been a resident of Detroit and Lincold Park the last 31 years. Born in Rome Township Feb. 10, 1868, Mr. Skeels lived in Adrian and vicinity before going to Detroit. He married Miss Laura S. Lowth of Rome, Dec. 24, 1890, who survives with four daughters, Mrs. Arthur Lagestrom and Mrs. Earl Shelito of Detroit, and Mrs Carl Johnson of Lincoln Park; one son, Wayland A. Skeels of Adrian; 24 grandchildren and 21 gret-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Kate Lefferts of Brooklyn, and one brother H. Roy Skeels formerly of Lorain, Ohio who died three weeks ago. Mr. Skeels was a member of the Adrian Baptist Church when a resident here, and was affiliated with the Baptist church in Lincoln Park. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and was employed by the Lincoln Park Public Schools until he retired about three years go. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Everiss Funeral Home with the Rev. Mr. Engel of the Baptist Church in Lincoln Park officiating. The burial will be in the family plot in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park. Funerals Fred R Skeels The funeral services for Fred R Skeels of Lincold Park, who died Saturday morning in Wyandotte Hospital, were held yesterday at 2 p.m. in the Everiss Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Wengel officiated and the burial was in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park. The active bearers, all grandsons of the deceased, were Edwin and Arch Sword, Donald and Wayland A. Skeels, Jr., Fredrick and Robert Shelito, Douglas Johnson and Ramon Lagerstrom. The honorary bearers, also grandsons, were Mahlon and Hal Sword, Dorman, Victor, Kenneth, Gerald, and Charles Skeels. NOTE: Mrs. Carl Swords is the 4 th daughter. She was listed first in the obit, before Mrs Arthur Lagerstrom. Also the last daughter is indeed Mrs Carl Johnson. If this is of interest, the daughters given names are Lucille Swords, Catherine Lagerstrom, Ellen Shelito, and Alice Johnson.
