The cemetery sits back about 1/10 of a mile from the road and cannot be seen from it. There is a second gate of cyclone fencing, but you can drive in and though the cemetery. The two-track shown in the picture lies between two houses on the north side of Will Carleton Rd. about 1 mile west of Telegraph Rd. The front of the property just west of the two-track has a line of large boulders, of which I took a photo. If you come in from I-275 (the west) the entrance is just past the line of boulders. Across the road there is a small hill with a large, gray, old- fashioned farmhouse just east of the cemetery entrance. If you come in from the east and get to the Country Meadows Mobile Home Park, you have gone too far. Additional Comments: This cemetery has many weathered stones. The earliest birth date I have noticed was in the 1700s. It is about a mile from the location of the first house in the local area to be built by a white man. It would not surprise me if this place was one of the earliest public burying grounds in Flat Rock. Although the grass needs cutting and some tree-trimming needs to be done, the setting is quite beautiful and the cemetery was still active in 2003. It appears to have plenty of space for additional burials. The military headstones each had an American flag during my visit today.
