Located in Section E, Lot 22, Grave 5, left of his wife's marker, Caroline Stockwell Catlin, the first to be buried in the Lot of 12 in 1876. Additional Comments: Born Henry Hyatt Thomas 27 Nov 1829 Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England. Parents: William Thomas and Catherine (christian name Catlin)both England. Marriage to Caroline Stockwell 2 Aug 1849 Gloucester South Hamlet, Gloucestershire England. AKA after wedding, Henry William Thomas Catlin. AKA after US, Detroit arrival, 1855-58, William Thomas Catlin or Wm. T. Catlin. William's occupation - Bookkeeper in the City Assessor's office. He did very well for himself as did the 9 children he and Caroline raised, Henry George William 1850-1930, Eliza 1852-1937, Ellen 1852, Alfred 1855, Louisa 1857, George Paul 1859-1920, Charles F. 1860-1911, Alice Maud 1862-1943, Ida May 1864-1939. Caroline died in 1876 and at that time William purchased a lot with 12 grave sites at Elmwood Cemetery for any of the family that might want them.
