Laura Maurer Coon was born in Springwells, MI on August 8, 1868, to 
Albertine/Bertha Welm Maurer (1845-1894) and Carl/Charles Maurer (1842-1922), 
both from Germany.  She was one of at least 12 children by this couple. Please 
note that her death certificate, headstone, and notes by her daughter, Gladys, 
all vary in the stated year of birth.  She married Fred Coon on March 19, 
1889.  The record lists her last name incorrectly as "Moore".  She and Fred 
had four children: Stanley W. 1891-1971; Gladys Julia (Spicer) 1896-1971; 
Hazen M. 1901-1968; and Harvey 1905-1972. Hazen has no known descendants.  
Laura died from breast cancer on November 3, 1934, at her home at 12191 Ilene 
St. in Detroit, Michigan. Inscription "Mother 1869-1934"
