Miss Katherine Orth Becomes Bride of George O’Hare on Wednesday. A wedding which was decidedly interesting to many people in Kenosha took place at Holy Rosary church in Detroit, Mich., on Wednesday morning at six o’clock, the contracting parties being Miss Katherine Orth, daughter of the late Charles Orth, formerly assessor in the city, and George O’Hare, son of Chief of Police Owen O’Hare. The announcement of the wedding received in Kenosha this morning came as a wee bit of a surprise to the relatives of Mr. and Mrs. O’Hare. The surprise was not a great one, however, as for several days Chief O’Hare and the members of Miss Orth’s family had been awaiting the coming of the news of the marriage. Young O’Hare left Kenosha seven weeks ago to accept a position in Detroit and two weeks ago Miss Orth went to Detroit presumably for a visit with friends there. The report was circulated that the couple had been married at that time, but prompt denials were received by both the families of the bride and groom. This morning Chief O’Hare received a letter “By the time you get this Katie and I will be married. We are going to be married at six o’clock Wednesday morning and are open to congratulations.” Chief O’Hare lost no time in telegraphing the parental blessing to his son and his new daughter and with it went best wishes for a long and happy married life. “We wanted the children to wait until they were a little older,” said the chief when asked in regard to the marriage this morning, “but they had their plans all made. She is a dandy little girl and I am glad to welcome her as a daughter.” The relatives of Miss Orth declared that they were mildly surprised at the report of the marriage, but that they were entirely satisfied. Mr. and Mrs. O’Hare left Detroit Wednesday afternoon for the usual wedding trip to Niagara Falls and other points of interest in the east and at the end of the short honeymoon trip they will make their home in Detroit where the groom has an excellent position with an automobile company. Both the bride and groom are widely known in Kenosha and hundreds of friends will be glad to extend the most cordial congratulations.
