Clark MANTON - Alice I. Clark of Mesick died Friday, March 14, 2003 at Lakeview Lutheran Manor in Cadillac after being in failing health for several years. She was 87. she was born on Sept. 14, 1915 in Antioch Township near Mesick to James and Minnie (Sayer) Sparks. She married Gale Redman in 1934; he preceded her in death in 1963. She married Donald Clark in 1966. She was a lifelong Mesick area resident. In her younger days, she worked for the Wolverine Glove Factory in Mesick and for Smeltzer's Orchard in Bear Lake. She was a good wife, mother and grandmother and loved nothing better than being with children and babies. She had a huge pig collection and enjoyed camping and cooking. She and her husband spent many years wintering in Florida. For several years, while they were in Florida, they worked as weekend cooks at Christian College. She had a strong faith and was a member of Anitoch Bible Church for almost all of her life. She was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Jeri Lynn Redman; a great-grandson, Adam Taylor; brothers, Robert, Alec, Andy and Frank; sister, Dorothy O'Neill; and an infant sister, Eva Louisa. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Antioch Bible Church with Rev. Roy Hewitt officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Township Cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Chapel in Manton. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
