Born July 30, 1960, in Manistique, Mich., he was the son of Victor Hughson and Beverly Gregurash. Michael grew up in Albion, Mich., and in Bellaire, Mich., where he graduated from Bellaire High School in 1979. He graduated from Northwestern Michigan College with a degree in commercial art. Michael was self- employed. His businesses included "Signs from Interlochen" and "North Frankfort Antiques." He was an extremely gifted artist, but his most fulfilling work was with antiques. He enjoyed visiting family across the United States. He lived his life fully and enjoyed life to its utmost. His passing is a tremendous loss to those who knew him. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thelma and Harry Hughson and Mary and Frank Gregurash. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City with memorial services being held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Sister Celine Goesst will officiate. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery in Wexford County. Following the memorial service, a celebration of Michael's life will be held at Timberlee Resort where all are welcome. Memorials may be directed to the Cherryland Humane Society.
