 "MANISTEE Gerald Leighton Jewett of Mesick died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002. He was 
65.
Mr. Jewett was born April 4, 1937 in Flint, to Robert and Grace (Reichle) 
Jewett. He graduated from Mesick High School in 1955. He married Marilyn 
Thompson Dec. 19, 1959 in Honor.  He worked as a machinist at Cone Drive 
Textron in Traverse City, retiring in April 2000 after 31 years of employment. 
He also farmed the family homestead.  He was a member of the Eden Bible Church 
in Beulah. His hobbies included remote control airplanes, sports, especially 
basketball, and hunting. He cherished spending time with his family and his 
church.  He was preceded in death by his 
parents; a granddaughter, Makayla Clark; brothers, Bernard and Dale Ackerman 
and Harold Jewett, and a sister, Sylvia Langlois.  Memorial services are 2 p.m. 
Saturday at the Eden Bible Church in Beulah, Rev. Dan Ingersol officiating. 
Cremation took place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee with final interment to 
be in the Antioch Township Cemetery.  Oak Grove Cremation Center handled 
arrangements."
