PROMINENT RESIDENT OF 48 YEARS DIES WHILE VISITING BRAINARD. MRS. C. J. KUEHL CALLED BY DEATH WHILE AT HOME OF BROTHER HAD RESIDED IN SAUK RAPIDS 48 YEARS – BORN IN GERMANY Mrs. C. J. Kuehl, a prominent and respected resident of this city for the past 48 years passed away at the home of her brother, Frank Kienow, at Brainard at nine o’clock Monday morning. She had been ill for a number of years. Mrs. Kuehl and her husband had been visiting at Brainard for the past month. Mr. Kuehl returned Saturday but was called to Brainard again Monday because of her serious condition. Mrs. Kuehl’s maiden name was Minni Kienow. She was born in Prussis Germany on Dec. 24, 1841 and came to this country with her parents while still a young girl. She was married to Mr. Kuehl in Columbus, Ohio more than 50 years ago. The departed is survived by her husband, C. J. Kuehl, one daughter, Mrs August Larson of Little Rock; four sons, George of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Charles of Regan, N. D., Fred of this city and Ezra of Minneapolis. One sister, Mrs. Caroline Stranger of St. Cloud, four brothers August and Julius of Seattle, Robert Kienow of Little Falls and Frank Kienow of Brainard. The remains were brought to this city Tuesday afternoon. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at two o’clock from the German Lutheran church. Interment will be made in the local cemetery.
