From The Graceville Enterprise, Tuesday December 2 1947 D. DYER DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS HERE "David Dyer 66, who has lived during his entire life in this community died suddenly after a two day illness last Thursday in Holy Trinity Hospital. The funeral was conducted at 9:30 a. m. today in Holy Rosary Church by the Rev. M. P. McGowan. Interment was in the Lakeside Cemetery. David Vincent Dyer was born on March 28 1881 in Graceville and has lived here all of his life. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis D. Dyer, and his father died in 1889 and his mother in 1903. He was married on November 3 1903 to Ellen Sullivan at Collis. They became the parents of six children, two of whom preceeded him in death. His wife died on May 18 1937. Mr. Dyer farmed until 1905 when he began to operate a pool hall in this village. Surviving are his three daughters, Mrs. Marie Dean of Seattle Wash, Miss Monica Dyer, and Mrs. Robert Libby of Los Angeles Calif; one son, James V. Dyer, who is serving with the army in Japan, one sister, Miss Elizabeth Maier of Graceville, a brother, John of Boston Mass; and a grandson, Brooks Dean. Honorary pallbearers were K. Knutson, M. A. Taffe, R. H. Ehrenberg, William Cox, John Sullivan and John Mullin. Active pallbearers were V. Fermoyle, James Grant,George Crowe, Paul Cloutier, Richard and Michael Sullivan, Allyn Hanson, and Wm.
