Strube this article doesn't have any dates to give me a hint of when she was born or died and she died in Milbank, SD so I can't check the death index Rites Held for Mrs. M. Strube on July 6th Funeral services for Mrs. Martha A. Strube, 88, of Ortonville, who died Thursday at the Whetstone Valley Nursing home in Milbank, were held on Monday, July 6, at the Trinity Lutheran church in Ortonville. Burial was in the St. Johns Lutheran cemetery in Alban township, Grant County, following the church service. Rev. E.W. Eifert officiated and music was provided by a ladies' trio of Mrs. Weston Schneck, Mrs. E.W. Eifert and Mrs. Arthur Hamann singing "Beautiful Saviour". A congregational hymn was also sung and Miss Karen Eifert was the organist. Martha Amelia Strube was born in Germany, daughter of Carl and Wilhelmina Ehlert, and came to this country with her parents when she was seven years old. The family moved to a farm in Yellowbank Township in Lac qui Parle county, Minn., where she lived there until her marriage to August Strube on July 12, 1900. They were married at the Yellowbank Lutheran church. After their marriage, they lived and farmed in Alban township. Mr. Strube passed away in 1925 and Mrs. Strube remained on the farm until 1952 when she moved to Ortonville. Mrs. Strube was the last surviving charter member of the St. John's Lutheran congregation in Alban township. Surviving are her daughters, Frieda (Mrs. Ted Zielke) of Big Stone, S.D. and Selma (Mrs. Wm. Felton) of Ortonville, her sons, Helmuth of Big Stone City, Edward of Jordan Minn., Wenhard of Big Stone City, and Arno of Ortonville, 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Amanda Tulowetzke of Watertown, SD., and a brother, Erick Ehlert, of Ortonville. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, three sisters and a brother. Pallbearers were Dennis Draght, Kenneth Zielke, Don Felton, Glenn Strube and Roy Strube.
