Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Rinna McGinnis ========================================================================= Lake Crystal Tribune; January 2, 1947 FUNERAL SERVICES FOR FRANK NUTT TO BE HELD THURSDAY Frank Nutt, aged 80 year, died at Immanuel hospital in Mankato on Tuesday morning of this week at about 4:30 o'clock. He had been living alone in a small house on the Ole Hansen property in the east part of town, for the past five years, but became ill on Thursday of last week when he was hospitalized. Mr. Nutt was a lifetime resident of the Lake Crystal community. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon, January 2, at 2 o'clock from the James Bros. Funeral Home. He is survived by two sons, Menzo, of near Lake Crystal, and George of Mapleton; a sister, Mrs. Mark Barney of Los Angeles Calif.; one granddaughter, Mrs. Dorothy Hohenstein and two great granddaughters, Luella and Della Hohenstein of Amboy; and nieces and nephews, Dan and Ben Barney of Billings, Montana, Mrs. David Slade Taylor (Ruth, John and Grace of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Mrs. Leland Thompson (Pearl) of Mankato. Franklin Porter Nutt was born in Willow Creek on May 15 in the year 1867, to Abigail and Merritt Nutt, and while still a young boy he moved with his parents to Lake Crystal. He was united in marriage to Esther Elizabeth Bailey in 1888. She preceded him in death on the 21st of October 1933. He had two brothers who preceded him in death, Charlie and Edward Nutt. Blue Earth Enterprise; January 9, 1947 GEORGE NUTT'S FATHER DIED AT MANKATO HOSPITAL Mr. and Mrs. George Nutt attended last Thursday at Lake Crystal, funeral services for Mr. Nutt's father. Frank Nutt, who passed away at a Mankato hospital at the age o f 80 years. He was a lifetime resident of the Lake Crystal community. He is survived by two sons, Menzo of Lake Crystal and George of Mapleton, also a sister, Mrs. Mark Barney of Los Angeles, California. Mr. Nutt was a native of Willow Creek and was married in 1888 to Esther Elizabeth Bailey who passed away in 1933.
