Pratt Dies; Long Sick Well Known Physcian Passed Away Late on Saturday Afternoon ____________________________ Dr. Chelsea Caroll Prattt who lived on Mankato Rout 1, and who has been patholngist (sic), at the Mankato clinic for a number of years, pass away Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at Immanuel Hosipital, following and illness which had lasted since the middle of May. Dr. Pratt was well - known and liked in Mankato as well as throughout the state. He moved to Mankato with his wife and son, Chelsea W., twelve years ago last February. When he first moved here he conducted the state board laboratory for the Mankato physicians. He was an active member of many mendical and fraternal organizations. Dr. Pratt was born on June 6, 1877, at Chippewa Falls, Wis. He graduated from the Universtiy of Minnesota in 1905 and was on the faculty of the institution for about a year following his graduation. He was married to Blanche Wheeler of Minneapolis on June 5, 1907. After acting on the faculty at the University, Dr. Pratt went to the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, N. Dak., where he did state laboratory work for about fourteen months. He later carried on a tuberculosis investigation for the Minnesota State Board of Health after which he became associated in general practice with Dr. S. Marx White of Minneapolis. He later moved to Makato. Was in World's War During the World's War, Dr. Pratt served in the United States, France and Montenegro, and was decorated twice, once by the Serbian Military Department and once the the Servian Red Cross. During the time that he was in service, he spent one year in America, and about eight months at Base Hospital 51, Tulle, France, from which place he went to Montenegro where he was director of public health work, later returning home. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Chelsea W., age thirteen, and Wilbur C., aged eleven; his mother Mrs. Mary Pratt of San Diego, California; two sisters Mrs. C. M. McConn, of Bethelem, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Charles Kettle ofd West Cliffe, Colorado; and three brothers, Benjamin A., of Minneapolis, Robert A., of La Grand, Oregon, and C. Harlow of Urban, Illinois. Dr. Pratt was a vestryman of St. John's Episcopal Church and a member of the following organizations: The American Medical Association; The Blue Earth County Medical Association; The Minnesota Pathological society; The Blue Earth County Guernsy Association; The American Legion; The Royal Arcanun; The Elks; Nu Sigma Nu medical fraternity; and Sigma Alpha Epsilon, social fraterity. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at St. John's Episcopal church at two o'clock. The vestrymen of St. John's Espiscopal church will be the active pallbearers and the doctors of Mankato clinic, the honoray pallbearers. Revernd Charles M Branden of Wassec will have charge of the services. Interment will be made at Glenwood Cemetery.
