AND MRS. PETER J. JUTZ TO CELEBRATE 50TH WEDDING Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Jutz, 623 North Minnesota street, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Tuesday, May 9. Marriage vows will be repeated by the couple at a nine o'clock mass in the Swan Lake Catholic church, where they were married 50 years ago, and their attendants will be Mrs. Louis Kunz of St. Paul and Fred Jutz of New Ulm, who were witnesses at the ceremony in 1900. The Reverend Siebenand will officiate, and members of the St. Cecelian choir of Holy Trinity Catholic church, New Ulm, will sing St. Peter's Mass, both being selected for the honored couple named Cecilia and Peter. Immediate members of the family, and the sisters and brothers of the couple, will be guests at a dinner at the National café, and open house will be held at the Jutz home during the afternoon and evening at which friends are welcome. No invitations have been sent. A three-tier wedding cake will center the table, and Mrs. Emil Windhorn, Mrs. Otto Kunz, Mrs. Otto Dallmann, Mrs. Anthony Harner and Mrs. Henry Portner will serve. Peter Jutz was born in Swan Lake Sept. 6, 1878, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Jutz. He has two brothers, Fred Jutz of New Ulm, and Ted Jutz of Swan Lake; and his deceased sisters were Mrs. Philip Dorn and Mrs. John Dorn. Cecilia Hahn was born Aug. 16, 1876, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton Hahn. She has two sisters and four brothers: Mrs. Henry Bongaarts, Glencoe; Mrs. Louis Kunz, St. Paul: Philip Hahn, New Ulm; William Hahn, St. Paul; Val Hahn, Wabasho; and Hubert Hahn, Wanda. Deceased sisters and brothers are Mrs. Cornelius Zins, Mrs. William Ballman, Mrs. Joe Horner and Lambert Hahn. Mr. and Mrs. Jutz had no children of their own but their adopted son, Guy De Leo resides in New Ulm; and they were foster parents to Mrs. Alice Dorn, now residing in Brookings, S.D. There are three grandchildren. Mrs. Jutz is a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic church; and Mr. Jutz is a member of St. John's court, Catholic Order of Foresters. ========================================================================= New Ulm Review – May 14, 1959 PETER JUTZ AND WIFE CELEBRATE 59TH ANNIVERSARY Relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mr. And Mrs. Peter Jutz, 400 No. Jefferson, Sunday to assist them in observing their 59th wedding anniversary which was arranged by Mmes. Adoph Schapekahm, Lambert Margan, Joe Brand, Jack Horner and Guy de Leo. The afternoon was enjoyed socially, followed by lunch; and the honored couple was well remembered with gifts including an anniversary cake, which centered the table, a gift from August Steinberge of the Weneeda Café. Guest from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Giefer, Mr. and Mrs. Claudius Giefer and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Jutz of Swan Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Epper, George and Eleanor Zins, Alice Giefer, and Mrs. Marie Schuck of Nicollet; Mrs. John Ahle, Westbrook; Mr. and Mrs. Val Hahn, Wabasso; Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Hahn, Morgan; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ardolf and Mrs. Leo Schmidt of Glencoe: Mr. and Mrs. James Caughlin and Barbara and LaVon of Charles City, Iowa: and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Horner and Donna of Franklin. Peter Jutz was born Sept. 6, 1878, a son of John and Sophie Jutz of Swan Lake; and Cecilia Hahn was born Aug. 16, 1876, a daughter of Anton and Barbara Hahn of Hastings. The couple was married in the Church of the Visitation at Swan Lake on May 10, 1900 and attendants were the bride's sister, Dora Hahn (Mrs. Louis Kunz), now deceased, and the grooms brother, Fred Jutz. Mr. and Mrs. Jutz farmed near St. George, Swan Lake and Redwood county, before moving to New Ulm where they have lived nearly 50 years. Mr. Jutz was employed as a carpenter, then worked as a bartender for Albert Kunz 10 years, until he suffered a stroke and has since been confined to his home. They are the parents of a son, Guy de Leo of New Ulm, and also have four grandchildren, Douglas, Connie, Philip and Sidney Paul de Leo. Fred and Theodore Jutz of New Ulm are brothers of Mr. Jutz; and Mrs. Jutz's brothers are Val Hahn, Wabasso, Hurbert of Morgan, John of New Ulm and Will of St. Paul.
