FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Jane White Submitted: April 2003 ========================================================================= Obit Anton BAUMANN (b. 1871, d 1955) Brown Co., obituary NU Review: June 1955 Anton Baumann, 83, of 615 North Franklin, died at a local hospital Sunday after an illness of two weeks. Funeral services were conducted from Holy Trinity Catholic church Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., the Rev. Raymond Neudecker officiating. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery. Mr. Baumann was born in Nicollet County August 30, 1871 and farmed for many years in Sigel Township until he retired and moved to New Ulm in 1928. During that time he was active in community affairs, serving on the township board, the district school board and the Sigel creamery board. He and Miss Clara Hillesheim were married Nov. 18, 1889. She preceded him in death in May 1938. Mr. Baumann is survived by the following children: Henry W. Baumann, Albert H. Baumann and Mr. Clara Zwach, all the New Ulm. Also surviving are two sisters Mrs. Wolfgang Brey and Mrs. Mike Hegler, and three step- brothers Frank, Joseph, and Wolfgang Gruber, all of New Ulm. Mr. Baumann was a member of St. John's Court, Catholic Order of Forestors.
