Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, on Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 10:30 a.m. The clergy will be Gene Anderson. Interment will be in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. E-mail condolences may be sent to the family via lillyfischer@sturmfh.com. The family prefers memorials. Lilly Bertha Massey was born Aug. 20, 1911, in Springfield, to William and Bertha (Gramentz) Massey. She married George "Hooley" Fischer on April 4, 1932, in New Ulm. They lived their married life in Sleepy Eye. Lilly was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. She belonged to the Elizabeth Bible Study Group, Trinity Ladies Aide, the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary in Sleepy Eye and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary in California. She had been employed at Anthony's Department Store, Del Monte and worked at Divine Providence Community Home for 18 years. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family and had a very strong spiritual faith. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, helping other people and sharing time with her family and friends. Lilly is survived by seven children, William (Louise) Fischer of San Mateo, Calif., Edward (Diane) Fischer of Copperopolis, Calif., Georgeen Dietz of Sleepy Eye, Darleen (Gerald) Current of Sleepy Eye, Audrey (Donn) Bruess of Sleepy Eye, Irene (Joe) Maertens of Fridley, and Deanna (Dwight) Cox of Brooklyn Park; 22 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Katherine Hanson and Carol Walden, both of Sleepy Eye and Marian Fischer of St. Paul; and brother-in-law, Dean (Judy) Fischer of New Ulm. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George on May 4, 1967; son-in-law, Clarence Dietz; sisters, Anna Massey and Erna Sellner; brother, Emil Massey; and three grandsons. ========================================================================= Copyright.
