INHOFER John H. Inhofer, 69, died at a local hospital Friday. He had been ill about eight months and entered the hospital, August 6. Funeral services were conducted in Holy Trinity Catholic church, Monday at 9 a.m. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery. The body lay in state at the Forster funeral home Sunday and prayer hour was conducted at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Inhofer was born in West Newton township, Feb. 14, 1882, and grew to manhood there. He was married to Miss Elsie Wagner, May 31, 1905. After their marriage the couple moved to Gibbon where he operated a blacksmith shop. Later he worked for the Wagner Hardware in Essig and then moved to a farm in Home township. Before moving to New Ulm in 1925, they lived in Sleepy Eye for a time. Since moving to New Ulm the family home was on Route 1, where he continued to operate a farm until he became ill. The following children survive: Mrs. William (Della) Rausch, and Mrs. Anthony (Verda) Preisinger, both of New Ulm and Melville and Gerald Inhofer, both of Madison, S.D. There are five grandchildren. Mrs. Inhofer preceded him in death about 13 years ago. Two sisters, Mrs. Marie Flor, New Ulm and Mrs. Milo Current of Hibbing also survive.
