JUNI, SR., DIES FOLLOWING LONG ILLNESS Mrs. Herman Juni, Sr., 69, who had been cared for in a local hospital since October, 1942, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral arrangements will be announce in Friday's Daily Journal. Johanna Frances Strate, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Strate, Pioneer residents of West Newton township, was born there June 18, 1874. She grew to womanhood there and was married in the West Newton Methodist church, June 7, 1900 to Herman Juni, Sr., who survives her. Mr. and Mrs. Juni made their home on a farm in Milford township until 7 years ago, when they retired and moved to New Ulm. They have resided at 26 South Jefferson street. Besides her husband, Mrs. Juni is survived by three children, Lowell June, on the home place in Milford; Mrs. Richard Broderson, Cottonwood, and Herman Juni, Jr., Milford. One daughter, Ruth, died in 1920. There are three grandchildren. Five brothers and sisters survive Mrs. Juni. They are, Mrs. Rudolph Alwin, New Ulm; Mrs. Louis Arhart, Gibbon; Fred Strate, Saskatchewan, Canada; William Strate, New Ulm, and Wilbur Strate, Clarkfield. Two brothers, Louis Strate and August Strate, preceded her in death. Mrs. Juni was a charter member of the Women's Society for Christian service of the local Methodist church.
