FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Pamela Kebis Submitted: March 2003 ========================================================================= Unknown Paper (Brown county) - February 13, 1929 JOHN JUTZ John Jutz, well know resident of Brighton township, Nicollet county, died at this home Friday morning at 4:45. He had been ailing only one day and suffered a stroke of paralysis which caused his demise. The deceased was born in Wisconsin in September 1855 and was thus past his 73 year. He came to Minnesota while still a young man and was married at the Swan Lake Catholic Church fifty-three years ago to Miss Sophia Geifer who preceded him in death, 38 years ago. Five children remain to mourn the passing of their father. They are: Mrs. John Dorn, Peter Jutz, and Mrs. Philip Dorn of New Ulm; Fred Jutz of Brighton township, and Theodore Jutz on the old home farm. Sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as two step-brothers, Nick Jutz of St. George and Frank Jutz of Brighton, and three step-sisters, Mrs. Mat Schouveiler, New Ulm; Mrs. Casper Riebel, Sleepy Eye and Mrs. Lambert Dorn of Brighton also survive. Funeral service were held from the Swan Lake Catholic church Monday morning, Rev. Francis Hvroschky of Nicollet officiating and interment was made in the cemetery nearby. Besides his children, other relatives attending the last rites included: Mrs. Casper Riebel and children and Mr. and Mrs. August Wager of Sleepy Eye; Nick Jutz, St. George; Mrs. Jake Muesing of Ledgerwood, N.D.; Mrs. Mat Burk, Nicollet and Peter Jutz, Pierz, Minn. The St. Peter Society of Swan Lake, of which society the deceased was a member, attended the last rites.
