Death came to him early that morning, and on Sunday a being that had suffered intense pain and agony was laid to rest. The deceased was born in Prussia on the 11th of October 1824. In 1872 he came to America and at once took up his residence near New Ulm. A farmer at the start he continued as such until eight years ago when he moved to New Ulm. Twice he was married. Two children resulted from the first wife, one of whom is Julius Krause, the painter and several from the second. Five are still living in different parts of the country. Mr. Krause was a hard-working and honest man. He made friends among his neighbors and was liked by those who knew him. Two years ago he was afflicted with Bright's disease and has been a great sufferer as a result. Death came only as a relief. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the St. Alexander Hospital and Hugo Fischer delivered the address. The Maennerchor also sang a requiem.
