FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Pamela Kebis Submitted: March 2004 ========================================================================= Review - July 1, 1943 Word was received here of the death of Mrs. Andrew Parks of Montevideo, who passed away Tuesday, June 22, at the Montevideo hospital after a three weeks illness. She had been suffering from a heart ailment. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 24th from the First Congregational Church at Montevideo, with burial following in that city. Hulda Petry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Petry, was born February 2, 1877, at New Ulm. She grew to womanhood here later going to St. Paul, where she took a course in nurses training. She was superintendent of the hospital at Wadena for 14 years before going to Montevideo where she was superintendent until her marriage February 2, 1930, at St. Paul to Andrew M. Parks of Montevideo, where they have since resided. Mrs. Parks was active in many organizations and civic activities in Montevideo. She had served as a nurse in World War 1 and was therefore a member of the American Legion and also of the Legion auxiliary. She was affiliated with the Rebekah and Eastern Star lodges and was also active in the Congregational ladies aid and the Montevideo Hospital auxiliary. She leaves to mourn her death her husband and the following step- children: Mrs. P. Goodmunderson (Ruth) of Montevideo; Mrs. D. L. McCoy (Marie) of Flint, Mich.; Mrs. A. E. Jerde (Jean) of Aberdeen, S.D.; Carl of Minneapolis, and Guy of Denver, Colo. There are 12 grandchildren. All of the children will be present at the funeral services with the exception of Guy Parks. Also surviving Mrs. Parks are two brothers and two sisters: Armand Petry of St. Paul, Emil Petry of Richmond, Calif.; Mrs. Ida Sommer of Palo Alto, Calif.; and Mrs. C.W. Boelter (Philippine) of St. Paul. Armand Petry came her from St. Paul to attend the funeral.
