Petry, for many years resident of New Ulm, will be grieved to learn of his death which occurred at St. Paul Tuesday morning at the city hospital. Death was due to cancer of the intestines with which he had suffered for six months. An operation performed recently failed to bring any relief. The deceased was born here in New Ulm, March 4, 1875 and was therefore only fifty years old when he died. After graduating from the New Ulm public schools, he taught for several years in the rural schools of the County. Later he removed to St. Paul and in 1898 he entered the post office service in St. Paul office and was thus engaged when he was stricken and was forced to give up work. In 1899 he was united in marriage to Meta Bellm of this city who preceded him in death in 1906. In 1912 he was united in marriage to Elfrieda Stiehn who with one son survives him. He is also survived by the following sisters and brothers; Henry, Armand, Mrs. W. B. Sommer, Mrs. C. W. Boelter, all of St. Paul; Hulda Petry of Montevideo and Emil of Richmond, California. The funeral will be held, Thursday, April 2 under the auspices of the East Gate Masonic lodge. During his life-time the deceased was at one time or another a member of the Turnverein St. Paul, United Workmen, the musicians' union, the union of postal employees and singing societies and small choruses.
