PETRY Robert J. Petry, former New Ulm resident, July 30, at St. Luke's hospital in St.Paul, after an operation. Mr. Petry was taken ill Saturday, July 14, with appendicitis and was operated on the following Sunday. The operation disclosed that the appendix had been ruptured and the man failed slowly until death relieved him. The deceased was born September 5, 1880 in this city and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Petry. He spent his boyhood here and learned the printer's trade in the office of the New Ulm Post. He lived in New Ulm until in 1904 when he went to St. Paul and worked at his trade. He has remained in the printing business ever since, with the exception of about ten years which was spent in the flooring and building business. He has been an employee of the Daily News in that city for the past seven years. Mr. Petry was married to Miss Clara Elsner of St. Paul June 20, 1911, who with two sons, Walter 14, and Bernhardt, 12, survive him. The following brothers and sister also survive: Mrs. C. W. (Philippine) Boelter, Henry, Armand and Mrs. W. B. (Ida) Sommer, all of St. Paul, Hulda of Montevideo, and Emil of Richmond, California. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the home in St. Paul, A.F. Schintz spoke. Mr. Petry was an active member of the St. Paul Turnverein and was formerly a member of the Mozart Singing Society.
