Johnson Death Date: 06/23/1939 Death Place: Sleepy Eye, MN Brown County Article Mrs. M. Raverty Passed Away Late Friday Mrs P.D. Raverty, nee Mary Johnson, passed away at 11:40pm on Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs Mate Schuman with whom she had been residing on Current Stret. Deceased died at the age of 70 years after being in ill health for ten years and patiently bearing her sufferings during the past three bed ridden years. Mary Johnson was born in 1869 on June 3, at Blue Earth, Mn. On April 29, 1899 she was joined in marriage to the late Patrick Raverty at New Ulm. Her husband preceded her in death eight years ago. Following their marriage the couple went to farming in Home township where they remained for 20 years. They then moved to Sleepy Eye and resided there until their death. She was the mother of 5 children, all of Sleepy Eye, namely, Mrs Jos Fischer, Jr., George Raverty, Edward Raverty and James Raverty and Mrs Mate Schumann. Two brothers and one sister survive, Andrew Johnson of Sleepy Eye, Hugo Johnson of Minneapolis and Mrs Isac Martine of Portland, Oregon. There are 23 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Schumann home Sunday afternoon at two o'clocl with Rev. Miss Rhoda Jane Dickinson in charge. Burial was made in Home cemetery. Five grandsons and a nephew acted as pallbearers; George, Clarence and Marvin Fischer; Edward and Warren Schumann and Kenneth Johnson.
