STRATE After an illness of more than five months' duration, Louis A. Strate, well known resident of this vicinity, passed away at his farm home in Home township Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. In the early part o September Mr. Strate's health began to fail and he sough medical attention. A trip was made to Rochester a short time ago in an endeavor to find relief. All efforts were in vain, however, and he passed quietly away last Saturday. Death was caused by an infection of the blood. Louis Adolph Strate was born on the farm of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Strate, March 7, 1880. He grew to manhood there and came to New Ulm where he lived for five years, following the carpenter trade. He was united in marriage to Miss Mae Tuttle, June 23, 1908, at the local Congregational parsonage, Rev. E.F. Wheeler officiating. The young couple moved to the farm of the bride's parents in Home Township where they have since resided. Four children blessed this union, all of whom, with their grief-stricken mother, survive. They are: Woodrow, Inez, Raymond and Evelyn, all at home. The deceased also leave to mourn, his mother, Mrs. Fredericke Strate, of this city, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Rudolph Alwin, August and William Strate of this city; Mrs. Louis Arhart, West Newton township; Fred Strate of Dupree, Sask., Canada; Mrs. Herman Juni, Milford township; and Wilbur Strate of Searles. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tuttle, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, also survive. Funeral services were held in Home township this afternoon, at 1 o'clock, and from the local Methodist church at 2:30, Rev. J. W. Mettam officiating. Interment was made in the City cemetery.
