NU Review 10-27-1939 -Mrs. Pauline Vetter Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 9:30 am from Holy Trinity church with interment services at the St. George parish Churchyard, for Mrs. Pauline Vetter, 511 North Minnesota St, who died Tuesday afternoon after an illness of considerable duration. She had been seriously ill for but two weeks but had not been well for several years. She spent her early youth in Cottonwood township, having been born there on the farmstead of her parents, May 17, 1859. After her marriage to Mr. Vetter they lived in West Newton until after his death in 1907. Since then she has lived in New Ulm with her children. The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernhard Fesenmaier who lived on the Cottonwood farm now occupied by Peter Fesenmaier, her brother. She was married June 22, 1880 to Joseph Vetter at Holy Trinity church in this city. Their married life was all spent in West Newton where they reared a family of 12 children, nine of whom survive their parents. They are John, Alex and George, Mrs. Frank Eckert and Mrs. Joseph Schwab of New Ulm; Bernard J of West Newton and Frank of St. George; Mrs. Walter Haubrich of Milford and Mrs. Charles Kuttner of Stewart. Her brothers are Peter of Cottonwood, Robert and Ben of New Ulm, Frank of Morton and her surviving sisters are Mrs. Ed Reinhart of New Ulm. and Mrs. Elizabeth Klingler of St. George. There are 19 survivors in the third generation and seven in the fourth. Mrs. Vetter had lived long enough so that her experiences varied from those of the earliest pioneers who went thru the Indian troubles. She with her parents were among the refugees who fled to St. Peter at that time and she knew all the hardships of those times including the days when the farmers saw their crops destroyed by grasshopper invasions. She was a very active worker and when she went to make her new home after marriage in St. George parish she took part in Church activities, serving as president of the St. Agnes Society from its beginning. After coming to New Ulm, she also was active in church duties and was a member of the Christian Mothers' Society of Holy Trinity.
