Peterson, age 68, Mahtowa area resident for forty years died at a Duluth Hospital, Jan 2, 1963, following a long illness. Mrs. Peterson was born in Cloquet, April 11, 1894 and moved to Mahtowa at age of 5. She was married December 1, 1918 to Carl G. Peterson at Proctor and they made their home at Proctor for three years before moving to farm three miles west of Mahtowa. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church and the Salem Lutheran Ladies Aid. Surviving her are 4 Sons: Wilbur, Roy and Allen, all of Duluth; Laurence, Spencer, Iowa; Ervin and Rodney, both of Mahtowa; 1 sister, Mrs. Fannie Borgen, Mpls.; 18 grandchildren. Services were held Friday, at 2:00 P.M. at the Salem Lutheran Church with Rev. Donald Olson and Dr. Hjalmer Swanson officiating Music by Mrs. Esther Wilson and Evelyne. Bearers were: Thure Nelson, Meriam Danielson, Clarence Gustafson, Carl Myhre, Donald Nelson, and Clarence Larson.
