Death Relieves Long Illness Mrs. H. Fabel, Jr., Passed Away at St. Joseph's Hospital Sunday With deep regret we are obliged to chronicle the death of Mrs. Henry Fabel, Jr. (nee Anna Hoeffken) which occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital, St. Paul, at 12:30 o' clock a.m., Sunday September 13, 1908 at the age of 41 years and 17 days. Deceased was born on a farm near Ochsner's church August 26,1867 and when a little girl moved with her parents to Norwood, where her father conducted a general store. She was united in marriage with Henry Fabel, Jr., twenty-one years ago and as in her childhood days, has since been one of the leading figures in Norwood, not alone in the social circle, but also as a business woman, who shared the troubles of her husband in his daily tasks, always full of life and hope, once met, always remembered. It seems hard when a young person surrounded by the luxuries of life, everything that money can buy or the heart can wish for, should be so cruelly torn from the midst of her loved ones. But such in this instance is the case and such is the will of the Creator. Deceased was operated on nearly two years ago for tuberculosis of the bowels and has been an invalid since, spending her time either in bed or in an invalid's chair, during the summer time in her beautiful cottage at Lake Minnetonka. Her will power and bravery tended to lengthen her days and the last operation was performed at her request when the doctors agrred that it was the only hope, and a slight one, for her recovery. Bravely she faced death and although attended by the best surgeons and nurses, they were unable to thwart the inevitable and she passed away from life this Sunday morning. She leaves her husband and one daughter, Margaret, besides a brother, G. Hoeffken and two sisters, Mrs. Geo. J. Bradley and Mrs. Geo. W. Ocobock, to mourn her early demise. The funeral was held last Tuesday from the Ocobock residence and tears dimmed many an eye as they gazed on her remains as they lay in state in a massive steel grey couch casket, so beautifully arranged before a background of the choicest flowers. A smile of happiness was stamped on every line of her features, as she sleeps the sleep that knows no waking. Rev. Ochsner, by whom she was baptised, confirmed and married, officiated at the house and grave. The funeral was one of the largest ever held in Norwood and vicinity. We sympathize with the bereaved husband, daughter and relatives.
