Mrs. Casper Giesen passed away at a hospital in Minneapolis last week Thursday, March 16th at 7:27 a.m. Mrs. Giesen enjoyed good health until some weeks previous to her removal to the hospital where she submitted to an operation for a ruptured appendix. At the time of her death Mrs. Giesen's age was 67 years and four days. Mrs. Giesen, nee Minnie Dohmann, was born at Victoria on March 12, 1866, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Dohmann. She spent her enttire life in Carver County, residing at Victoria, Chaska, and for many years here in Waconia. On November 13, 1883, she was married to Casper Giesen, and this union was blessed with ten children, one of these chil- dren, Jacob, died on Feb. 28, 1889, while the family resided in the city of Chaska. The husband passed away several years ago. The funeral rites were held last Saturday morning at the Church of St. Joseph, Rev. Father Stelmes chanting the Requiem Mass. The remains were buried in St. Joseph's cemetery. The pallbearers were Albert Graff, C.A. Habergarten, Henry Wellens, Henry Wagener, Math. Grausam, William Lipp. The floral tributes were carried by the grandchildren. Surviving are the children, namely, Mrs. Albert Ma..of, Joseph Giesen, Hubert Giesen, Mrs. Clarence Norby, Jacob Giesen, Henry Giesen, Mathew Giesen, John Giesen and Raymond Giesen. She is also survived by one brother, Frank Dohman, and two sisters. Mrs. Giesen was a devout Christian and a kind mother, and the children have the sympathy of their many friends in the loss of a good mother.
