Mrs. Mankenberg was a charitable, christian woman of unassuming and reserved disposition, and her excellant qualities were known and appreciated most by those closely associated with her. Though she was not a mother in the true sense of the word, still she was a mother to many, and and the benevolence of her kind heart was extended to those who were dear to her, and their ??ial atention afforded her much happiness. Barring rheumatic ailments she was fairly well until twelve days before the end. High blood pressure and congestion of the lungs caused her death. The remains were brought to Norwood Friday morning. Requim Mass was read by Father Remskar, at the end of mass Mrs. Chas. Mankenberg sang "My Rosary". Interment was in the family lot of the Catholic cemetery there. She leave the following step-children: Mrs. Christ Ackerman, of Monroe, Wash.; Mrs. Jason DeSilva, of Chicago; Mrs. Gottlieb Pieper of Norwood; Herman of Avoca and Charles of Gl;acier Park. Four sisters: Mrs. Mary Lingle of Leofeld, Saskatchewan, Canada; Mrs. Chas. Thomas of Frazee; Mrs. Chas. Schmitz of Wilmington, California and Mrs. Paul Anderson of St. Paul. Two brothers: George Platzer of Minneapolis and Jos. Platzer of this place. Mrs. Emma DeSilva, Mr. and mrs. Jason DeSilva and daughter and Arthur DeSilva of Chicago and Mrs. Chas. Thomas of Frazee, with many relatives from St. Paul and Minneapolis attended the funeral.
