Death of Mrs W.R. Van Sloun.

Mrs W.R. Van Sloun, or Mother Sloun, as she was called by her children and 
grand children, died at the residence of her son-in-law John Dols Chaska, on 
Sunday morning, May 4th aged 76.  

Mrs Sloun has been in delicate health for the past year, being regarded as a 
general breaking up of her system, and she passed away as above noted as 
peacefully as a child would go to sleep; her bed side being surrounded by all 
her children and other loved relatives.  

Mrs Sloun had a wide circle of friends who were endeared to her by her womanly 
qualities and her death is a severe blow to both her children and friends and 
they will cherish her memory forever henceforth.  

Her funeral from the Catholic Church last Tuesday morning was largely 
attended, and the sermon of Father Clementinus one that will long be 
remembered.  

The following children survive her, Leonard, Gerhard, Peter and Martin Van 
Sloun and Mrs Matt Rasen [sp Rosen], Mrs John Jaspers, Mrs C. Buschmeyer, Mrs 
John Dols and Mrs L Jaspers, besides a large number of grand children.

Dorothea Van Sloun, nee Dorothea Frenken.  Daughter of Martin Frencken & Maria 
Frencken (nee Frencken).  (Dorothea spelled her maiden name without the "c".)  
Born in the village of Born, Limburg Province, The Netherlands in 1808.  
Married Wilhelm R. Van Sloun in 1832.  Immigrated to Chanhassen Twnshp, Carver 
Co, MN in 1863.
