Peehl Laid to Rest Tuesday Deceased Charter Member of Church Peter Johan Peehl, one of the old remaining settlers of Chisago City, passed away on Christmas Day in the good old age of 87 years, 6 months and 15 days. He was born at the parish of Söderby, Kronobergs län, Sweden, on the 10th of June 1838. After having married in Sweden in 1867 he came to America in 1868. To Chisago City he came in 1874 from Minneapolis. He was one of the few remaining charter members of the Chisago City church. His funeral was held at the Chapel last Tuesday afternoon and he was laid to his final rest at the West Green Lake cemetery. Charles Bergquist, C. A. Wallmark, B. Wakinson, W. Almberg, Arthur Peterson and C. A. Hanson were the pall-bearers. The aged man leaves two sons, Carl Otto Peehl and Oscar F. Peehl, both of Chisago City, and one daughter, Mrs. George Kline of Duluth, other relatives and friends. (Note: his name also spelled Pihl)
