Chisago County Press, Thursday, April 15, 1909

Solomon Swenson of Goose Lake died last Thursday, having been 
confined to the house only one day. He has been in poor health for 
over two years suffering from cancer of the stomach, but has been up 
and around until the day he died. He ws born in Östra Torsås, Sweden, 
March 15, 1870, and was at his death 64 years and 28 days old. He 
came to this country in the year 1870 and in 1879 was married to Anna 
Christina Peterson, daughter of Solomon Peterson. He is survived by a 
wife, 11 children and 3 grandchildren. Funeral services were held 
from the church last Sunday at three o'clock, Rev. Kjellgren 
officiating, and interment made at the local [Scandia] cemetery.

(Note: the date of birth given above is wrong : calculation from the 
given age suggests that his birthdate was in 1845.)
