Taasaas of Holy Cross Township, married Ruth E. Carlson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carlson of Wolverton, Minn. They started farming in March, 1924. Their place is located 2 1/2 miles east of Comstock. At first they farmed with horses. Their crops were wheat, corn, barley, oats, flax, potatoes and alfalfa and millet for hay. Later on they added soybeans. They have four children: Dorothy - Mrs. Floyd Butenhoff, (former teacher) living on a farm in Alliance Township. Three children, James, Ruth and Paul and one foster child Arlene. Beverly - Mrs.Virgil Olson (former nurse) also on a farmstead in Alliance Township. Three children, Deborah, Robert and Brenda. Melvin - employed at Western Electric in Chicago, Ill. Married to Betty Toth, two girls Tammy and Kathy. Carl - married to Ann Locher, 2 girls, Deborah and Sharon, employed at St. Luke's Hospital at Fargo, North Dakota as Director of Housekeeping and Maintenance. Olaf spends much of his time raising strawberries and fishing in his retirement. They are members of the American Lutheran Church at Comstock, Minn.
