BUTENHOFF OBIT, #669T Name and date of newspaper unknown A. J. BUTENHOFF DIES SUDDENLY AT FARM HOME Albert J. (Slim) Butenhoff, 70, passed away unexpectedly late Saturday afternoon in his farm home near Baker. He had suffered from a heart condition for the past five years. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church near Sabin. Pastor I. W. Bade officiated. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Michael McNamee was soloist and Mrs. I. W. Bade was at the organ. Pallbearers were six nephews, Floyd, Dennis, Curtis, Melvin, Orville and Theodore Butenhoff. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Miller, Alvin Lemke, Philip Barry, Rudy Possehl, John Ludemann, W. F. Possehl, Frank Thompson and Raymond Wagner. Arrangements were made by Dobmeier Funeral Home. The son of Albert G. and Emma Moll Butenhoff, Albert was born Dec. 22, 1894 on his father's farm near Dows, Iowa. When he was eight years old, the family moved to a farm near baker where he attended school and spent the remainder of his life. He was confirmed in and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Sabin. He had never married. He is survived by five brothers and one sister, Fred of Hampton, Iowa, Theodore of Sabin, and Willie, Leonard and Clarence, all of near Baker, Mrs. Irving (Evelyn) Sether of Rothsay. Preceding him in death were three brothers, George, Carl and Edwin, and one sister, Mrs. H. A.
