BUTENHOFF OBIT, #673T Name and date of newspaper unknown BUTENHOFF RITES HELD AT SABIN CHURCH MONDAY Funeral services were held Monday in Trinity Lutheran Church at Sabin for Edwin H. Butenhoff, 58, who died unexpectedly at his farm home. He had been under medical treatment for a heart ailment for several years. The Rev. I. W. Bade officiated. Mrs. Ralph Rehder was the soloist and Mrs. Bade was the organist. Active pallbearers were six nephews, Orval Butenhoff of Hampton, Iowa; LeRoy Jackson of Fargo; Ronald Jackson of Moorhead; Floyd, Melvin and Theodore Butenhoff. Honorary pallbearers were Anton Krebs, Robert Cook, Eugene Swenson, Fred Miller, Rudy and William Possehl. Interment was in Trinity Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Dobmeier Funeral Home. The son of Albert and Emma Butenhoff, Edwin was born Feb. 5, 1904, on his father's farm near baker. He attended school at Baker, grew to manhood and lived his entire life in this area. He was baptised and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church at Sabin and at the present time was an elder in the church. On March 31, 1931, he married Violet Jackson of Barnesville. The couple had farmed in the Baker community all their married life. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Curtis, Edward and Ronald, all of rural Barnesville; two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Fern) Hansen of Baker and Mrs. Howard (Janet) Brown of Minot, N. D. There are 10 grandchildren. Other survivors include six brothers and one sister: Fred of Hampton, Iowa; Mrs. Irving (Evelyn) Sether of Rothsay; Theodore, Clarence, Leonard, Albert and William, all of the Sabin-Baker area.
