(Emma) Butenhoff, 84, of rural Barnesville were held Wednesday afternoon in Trinity Lutheran Church at Sabin. Mrs. Butenhoff passed away Sunday at the farm home where she made her home with her son, Arnold. She had been in ill health for some time. Rev. LeRoy Philaya officiated. Rosemarie Johnk was soloist and Susan Johnk was organist. Pallbearers were Jerald Butenhoff, Douglas Butenhoff, Lloyd Jerde, Edward Jerde, Douglas Martinson and Duane Samuelson. Interment was in the church cemetery. Wright Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. The daughter of Adam and Amelia Stock, Emma was born Nov. 19, 1893 at Albany, Minn. She married Ferdinand Butenhoff there. They had farmed in the Baker area since their marriage. He died in 1957. Survivors include two sons and three daughters. Arnold, Lawrence and Mrs. Lester (Mathilda) Possehl, all of rural Barnesville, Avis of Moorhead and Mrs. Desmond (Cecelia) Jerde of Britton, S.D. There are four sisters, Mrs. Ole (Marie Morthberg of Anoka, Mrs. Annie Schillin of Duluth, Mrs. Robert (Esther) Johansen of South St. Paul and Mrs. Anton (Elsie) Krebs of Barnesville.
