August 5. The Rev. Cole Tyner of Bethany College officiated and Mrs. Ethel Schultz was Organist. Mr. Butenhoff died suddenly the afternoon of August 3 on the way to his doctor's office. The son of August and Wilhelmina Tiews Butenhoff, Otto Herman Butenhoff was born near Dows, Iowa, February 13, 1887. He graduated from the Council Bluffs School for the deaf and moved to Baker with his parents in 1911. He farmed in that community until 1950, when he moved to California. He operated a chicken ranch at Lancaster for several years and then retired in Santa Cruz because of ill health. Surviving are his widow, Fannie, one daughter, Mrs. Augustus (Marjorie) Pederson of Fargo, two granddaughters, Mrs. Robert Pehkonen of Yuma, Ariz. And Doris Pederson of Fargo, two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Rosa) Possehl of Moorhead, and Mrs. T. E.
