Butenhoff, age 74, died Saturday evening in a Fargo hospital. He has been in failing health for the past 1 1/2 years. Bill, son of Albert G. Butenhoff and Emma Moll, was born June 10, 1906, on his father's farm near Baker. He attended country school and grew to manhood in the Baker area. He married Esther L. Eliason of Buxton, N. D., June 16, 1948 in his farm home near Baker. The couple farmed in the Baker area, retiring in 1971. They moved into Barnesville in 1973 where he had made his home until the time of his death. Mrs. Butenhoff died June 19, 1979. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Barnesville. He is survived by one brother and one sister, Leonard Butenhoff, Barnesville, and Mrs. Irving (Evelyn) Sether, Rothsay. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin with Pastor Wayne Anderson officiating. Rose Marie Johnk was the soloist and Mrs. Claude Nash was the organist. Pallbearers were eight nephews, Ronald Butenhoff, Floyd Butenhoff, Orval Butenhoff, Ted Butenhoff, Ed Butenhoff, Dennis Butenhoff, David Butenhoff and Roy Butenhoff. All people in attendance were considered as honorary pallbearers by the family. Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Sabin.
