Iverson, 89, of Barnesville, Minnesota died Tuesday, July 10, 2001 in Heartland Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota. Visitation: Friday, July 13, 2001, from 5-7 p.m., in Dobmeier Funeral Home, Barnesville, MN. Funeral service: Saturday, July 14, 2001, at 11 a.m. in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Barnesville, MN. Francelia Mathilda Iverson was born May 30, 1912, in Baker, MN, to Oscar and Clara (Butenhoff) Iverson. She grew up in Baker, attending school and graduating from Barnesville High School in 1929. In 1933, she graduated from Concordia College with her teaching certificate. The years following she taught English in LaMoure, ND, New Mexico and Maryland until returning to Baker. She helped her parents run the Iverson General Store until 1957 when she became Postmaster at the Baker Post Office. She worked in the Post Office until retiring around 1984. From 1986 to 1990, Francelia was a community volunteer at Eventide, Heritage Hjemkomst Center and for the Billy Graham Crusade. She resided at Moorhead Health Care Center for a year until moving to the Good Samaritan Center in Barnesville, where she remained until her death. Fran was a lifetime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Barnesville. She was also a member of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States (NAPTUS). She would write various news articles for the Concordia Alumni Association. One of Fran's most distinguished accomplishments was being named Clay County's Outstanding Citizen of the Year. Fran loved children and music, and faithfully attended programs and concerts in support of both. She was a wealth of memories and history, as she knew people of all walks of life. For all who knew and loved her, we say "Thank you, Fran, for the memories!" Fran is survived by her brother, Edward (Evelyn) Iverson, Redlands, CA, nephew Jack Iverson, Capistrano Beach, CA, niece, Kathy Mohn, Makonia, MN, grand-nieces, Michelle Iverson, Linnea Mohn and Eva Mohn.
