POSSEHL OBIT, #1158T Barnesville Record-Review Thur., 7/25/1968 E. F. Possehl Dies Following Long Illness. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Sabin for Edward F. Possehl of Baker. Mr. Possehl passed away Wednesday in a Moorhead Hospital where he had been a patient for three weeks. He had been ill for several years. Rev. L. W. Bade officiated at the services. Soloist was Rosemarie Johnk. Mrs. Bade was organist. Pallbearers were Norman Krabbenhoft, George Krabbenhoft, Ralph Possehl, Dewey Possehl, Vern Peterson and Edsel Boe. Interment was in the Trinity Church Cemetery. Dobmeier Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Ed Possehl was born Nov. 10, 1894 at Latimer, Iowa, the son of Henry C. Possehl and Carrie Burns. He came to Minnesota at the age of nine years and lived with his family on a farm near Baker. He attended school there and had lived there all his life. He married Mary Moore of Sabin Nov. 20, 1917 in Trinity Lutheran Church at Sabin. They made their home on the same farm at Baker for 51 years. The couple observed their 50th wedding anniversary last November. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife Mary, one daughter, Mrs. Karl (Evelyn) Getz of Baker; one foster son, Lyle Anderson of Escondido, Calif. There are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his stepmother, Mrs. Rosa Possehl of Moorhead, three half sisters and three half brothers, Mrs. Erhardt (Adeline) Johnk of Comstock; Mrs. Carl (Clara) Jensen of Vancouver, Wash.; Chester Possehl of Baker, Rudy Possehl of Comstock, Art Possehl, North Hollywood, Calif., Miss Florence Possehl of Moorhead.
