She was born Sept. 29, 1907 at Fargo,N.D. the daughter of Peter and Christina ( Gonvick) Monsrud. She grew up in Gonvick and attended school there and in McIntosh and Clearbrook. She graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1925. She attended Bemidj State Teachers College. She married John Olson on Dec. 31, 1925 at Gonvick,Mn. After thier marriage they moved to a farm south o fClearbrook and moved to the Brookflied Apartments in 1992. Mr Olson died in 1994. In 1999, Phyllis moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Clearbrook. She was a member of the Elim Luthern Chruch and a member of the former Augusta Luthern Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening and birds. She is survived by three daughters, Marion (William) Jansen of White Rock, British Columbia, Canada, Crystle ( Russell ) Gunderson of Sun City, Ariz, Barbara Torgerson of Clearbrook; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grand children and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Adolph Monsrud. Funeral services will be held on Thrusday, Feb. 20,2003 at 2 p.m. at he Elim Luthen chruch in Clearbrook . Interment will be at the Augutana Luthern Cemetery in Clearbrook. ========================================================================= Copyright.
